In GHOUL SCHOOL we will read Alice Notley’s 2011 classic Songs and Stories of the Ghouls out loud together over the course of 8 weeks to help us think through questions like what does it mean to raze the city—in myth—through the medium of language? We will unmake our way with Notley through the different strata of “civilization’s” conquests, deaths, war, and occupations. Songs and Stories of the Ghouls can help us learn the tools of destruction and poiesis.
Each meeting will have 40 minutes of reading, discussion, and writing. An electronic copy of the text will be provided.
Weekly on Zoom, Saturdays 1-3 PM EST
