Artist: John McLane

“Love Love” by John McLane (acrylic on canvas)
John McLane is an artist from New York City, who was born in a bathtub in a 5th Avenue penthouse, paints with shotguns, and loves classical music. He’s incredibly talented painter whose wild strokes and unusual method of often shooting wine bottles of paint at his canvases (check out the short film about his Shotgun Project held at the Roger Smith Gallery in 2007) creates intense and captivating artwork. He was kind enough to draw the illustrations for the short story “Submit: a Canticle for Berners-Lee” in Exit Strata: Print! No.#1 during our January CoCo Salon. His online portfolio can be found at www.johnmclane.net.
